Hosea (book of)

Hosea (book of)
Book of Hosea by Tom Schmidt Please, oh plead with your mother, She is not my wife, I am not her spouse. That she might put away her faithlessness, From her face, adultery from her breasts. For their mother she has played the whore, She has conceived, acted shamelessly. She said, 'I'll go after my lovers, Who give me what I need, who give me what I want.' He said, I will allure her, speak tenderly, draw her near with my love. I will redeem her, restored and new, as in the days of her youth. Remove all the names of her lovers, she will forget, remember them no more. Make her my wife forever, cloth her in truth, righteousness and love. Let us know... the LORD. The LORD he is like a lion, Tremble at his roar, shudder up your spine. His word goes forth as the light, Exposing the darkness, that fills our hearts. Our treachery has spurred his anger, We are like Gomer, a faithless wife. But he is a compassionate lover, Gave his Son to die, the death we should have died. He said, I ! will allure her, speak tenderly, draw her near with my love. I will redeem her, restored and new, as in the days of her youth. Remove all the names of her lovers, she will forget, remember them no more. Make her my wife forever, cloth her in truth, righteousness and love. Let us know... the LORD. Come let us return to the LORD and come. Come confess your guilty ways and come. Come rest in Christ's saving death and come. Come, oh rains of righteousness come. He said, I will allure her, speak tenderly ...
